The Tempest

Reviewing J.S. Peterson as the Scenic Designer
Truly Exceptional (Top 1% of all students I have ever worked with or observed)
"Petey was very motivated for this production and attacked the assignment with great energy and research. He was always available for questions and very proactive in requesting meetings and making sure he stayed on deadlines. He was accommodating and flexible as we discussed different elements of the show and how he could focus his work. It looked to me that he was also incredibly good at communicating with the other designers where his work would intersect. He had good reasons for all his choices but was also realistic in dealing with time and money restraints for the final product. In short, this was one of the most enjoyable design processes I've had with a student (or professional) in my 40+ years of theatre."
"I don't think he has any weaknesses per se, but as he continues in this business I encourage all artists to make sure they get out of the theatre and live their lives. He has a naturally inquisitive nature, and I'd encourage him to use that to continue his learning in all areas of life and art."

Reviewing J.S. Peterson as the Scenic Designer & Puppet Couch
"Petey has been incredibly involved in the process, helping tape the stage with stage management, creating stand-in rock platforms for rehearsals, and even involving himself in rehearsals with puppets. He reminds me to be sure of myself as a creative and to move through the world with confidence.
