Jordan Scott Peterson is a designer of physical spaces, from theatre and opera to film sets, exhibits, and live events.
His work starts with research and ends in spaces built to hold a story, and to bring people together inside it. All of it driven by an interest in how a space makes people feel before anyone in it says a word.
His recent work includes scenic design for Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre, Lyric Repertory Company, and Salt Lake Acting Company, and production design for film. He has built puppets for opera, including an 85-foot skeletal snake for The Magic Flute, and planned the waterfront site for The Performance Arcade in Wellington, New Zealand, a festival of 23 shipping containers that drew more than 40,000 people.
